I recently had the pleasure of staying at a unique and historic fort in the Indian countryside. The Dadhikar Fort, surrounded by beautiful mountains, offered a truly enchanting setting. The fort itself has been meticulously restored and exudes character and charm. I was impressed with the cleanliness and upkeep of the property. The staff, particularly Ramesh, our waiter, was incredibly friendly and provided exceptional service. Ramesh even shared fascinating insights into local wedding traditions, adding to the overall memorable experience. The highlight for me, however, was the food. It was hands-down the best I have ever had, absolutely amazing! The breathtaking sunset views from the property were an added bonus. I highly recommend this hidden gem in the Indian countryside.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. As I visited during the off-season, the variety of food options was limited.

The heritage fort made our stay a unique experience. The service was excellent, and we enjoyed the outstanding vegetarian food served for dinner. The cultural program at night was fantastic. The property is well-maintained, clean, and quiet, with chirping birds as companions. We loved the surrounding wilderness and enjoyed our small room's private terrace with great views.
The bone-rattling last stretch of the drive to the property can be a little challenging.
